Reactive Diffusion Image Effects in Unity2016
After researching Reactive Diffusion in the form of an easy, quick web project. I decide to continue the experiment in Unity.
The first prototype is to use image feed as feed/kill map in the simulation. Then using the simulation outcome to distort the image feed. This effect can organically distort a plain digital landscape, in some cases, outputs interesting analogue looking glitches.
The image effect was also tweaked for better support in VR, by weight in depth information of the view and offset the simulation values slightly. This prevents the common feeling of the image being very close to one's eyes. It is really hard to say if I have done this stereoscopic correction properly, since the effect tends to destroy 3d models in grotesque way.
